Apprisen Financial Advocates -
The New National Name for Our Family of Consumer Credit Counseling Service Agencies

Why did we select a new national name?

We are growing. Every year, greater numbers of people from across the country are asking us for help. We wanted a national name that truly represents who we are and what we do.

Why did we choose Apprisen Financial Advocates?

The word "Apprisen" contains the word "apprise" which means to counsel and advise. It captures our core mission to help people improve their financial well-being. The word "Advocates" is a powerful description of the position we take as we provide our services. Our new logo, comprised of a stylized "A," symbolizes a compass to demonstrate that we help people find their way financially.

What is not changing?

While Apprisen Financial Advocates is our new national name, we will still be known as Consumer Credit Counseling Service in our local communities. Our people, policies and procedures remain the same. In most situations, the CCCS and Apprisen names appear together, symbolizing our local and national identities.

Are we still the same agency?

Yes, we have not merged with nor have we been acquired by another organization. We are still a non-profit, community-based agency offering the same personalized, confidential counseling services. Our new name reflects the growth of services our agency provides.

Will we keep our local offices?

Yes, and we will probably be adding more. You will continue to see our local offices under the name of Consumer Credit Counseling Service.

What about our website, phone number and office hours?

Our office hours and phone number will not change. Our website has changed to www.apprisen.com.

Are we still accredited and recommended by the BBB?

Yes, we are accredited by the Council on Accreditation and the Better Business Bureaus in the communities we serve. We are members of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and the Association for Independent Consumer Credit Counseling Agencies (AICCCA.)

Will there be changes for CCCS Debt Management clients?

For CCCS clients, the Debt Management Program will stay the same. There will be no change to your monthly DMP deposits, your monthly fees or the length of your program.  You can continue to make out your money orders or cashiers checks to CCCS and send them to our Columbus, OH address or continue to use BillPayer 2000. Client IDs and PIN numbers will remain the same. Your creditors have been informed of our new national name and will continue to work with us as usual.  If there are any future changes to your program, you will be notified.
