Post Bankruptcy
As required by law, individuals who file for bankruptcy need to complete a financial management course before their debts are discharged by the court. This course will include information on:
- Budget Development
- Money Management
- Wise Use of Credit
- Consumer Protection Laws and Regulations
Post bankruptcy options:
- Internet Based Education Course “Money in Motion”: This session is a two hour online course that can be completed at any time. The course provides instructive financial tips, consumer laws, information regarding credit scores, and other useful financial information.
- Workshop: This session consists of a two hour course that will be completed in a group setting at one of our local offices.
Fees
The fee for the post-bankruptcy education counseling session is $50 for either an individual or joint filing. This fee may be waived or reduced in limited hardship circumstances. Please call 1-800-355-2227 for more information regarding this.
